This is special event- Kizomba Class with Sonny Varela Sonny Varela was crown UK Kizomba Champion and 3rd World Kizomba Champions at AfricAdancar International Kizomba competition with her dancer partner 2015/2016. Sonny originally from Cape Verde born in France, she grew up dancing Passada, Funana, Kuduro, Mazurka, Coupe Decale and Ndombolo. She danced Samba with Taste of Brazil, African traditional and modern dance (Azonto & Afrobeat) with Yemaya Libota. Kizomba is one of the most popular genres of dance and music originating in Angola and all plops countrie. Originally in London with no fellow Palops (Portugese African speaking colonials) She shared her love of Kizomba by teaching Passada (steps) from which Kizomba is a derivative of, to friends. Following her love of fashion she set up her fashion brand of Bijoulili (www.bijoulili.com) which retails her designer collection of jewelllery and clothing including her renowned Ginga Boo Chain (a Kizomba must have for the ladies https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__2CYc62sHU) She models, and was also nominated at the True African Award for designer of the year as well as Icon of the year 2014 Fusing her love of Dance and Fashion along with her concept for personal development she took to teaching professionally (London) where she incorporates her roots of the dance alongside fashion with it’s clients. She has taught in Dakar (Africa), Dubai, Hungary, Spain, France, Italy London, Portsmouth, Northampton, Birmingham, Milton Keynes, Paris, Cannes, Nice, Juan Les Pins, and all around the UK, in congresses & Festival, and is a tremendous influence in steering clients to reach their potential in their love and feeling for kizomba the music and the dance.
