IMPROVISATION-AL CONTACT A 3 days workshop in Contact Improvisation. Technical Skills in the morning - We will explore communicating through weight as a language—both solo and in duet via light points of contact that shift roles fluidly. We cultivate inner qualities like listening, stillness, curiosity, fluidity, playfulness, and spontaneity through breath-led pauses, tiny-contact scores, and "what if?" prompts that interrupt habits. We will navigate through principles of support, following and leading, momentum, inertia, falling alongside the sharing of the weight. Improvisation Skills in the evening - In this contact improvisation class, we will explore what it means to move from the present moment — listening, responding, and letting movement find its own way, one breath and impulse at a time. This class invites you into a dynamic exploration of improvisation across three interconnected realms: within yourself, with other bodies, and with space. In this journey of learning and research, he indulges in other movement practices including contemporary dance floor work, somatic practices, body work etc. He is intrigued by the art of facilitating, creating and holding spaces for collaborations of various art forms with CI. Harman’s inspiration to Contact Improvisation in different aspects of life is leading him to travel to different places, spaces and cultures while sharing the practice of CI along the way.
