To reverse the cycles of not giving that stop us from giving ourselves away as an offering to this world. To fall intimately within, rediscovering the genius in us that knows directly and lives in the shared space. To discover or deepen the soulโ€™s artistry of asking beautiful and challenging questions, and being vulnerable and available to listen whole-bodily. To access and cultivate a greater support by unifying with the forces of nature and moving towards life together. Contact Improvisation is a practice and artform rooted in ancient Eastern philosophies, martial arts, and contemplative traditions. It is as an embodied inquiry, and an invitation toward a fuller way of being and relating in the world, deepening our connection with nature, its forces and wisdom. We will be meeting each other on the ground of direct experience, sharing the practice of asking questions felt in the body, and crafting a language to express what is alive in us. Explorations will be both practical and poetic, attending to what is essential, beautiful, and inviting change in our lives. It will include contemplative practices, embodied inquiry and improvisation, writing and sharing poetry. Sessions will take place both on land and in water. (studio and pool) In the context of this workshop poetry is considered an alive language felt in the body, expressed in any form. Shaping a language more intimate with life, poetry invites us to rediscover our relationship with language and our voice; revealing subtle complexities and deeper meanings, and articulating the essence of our lived experience that often goes unspoken. We will practice to craft a language through deep listening, writing explorations and sharing. Previous experience in writing practices is not required, and it can be done in your native language.
