About this Event
Yo fam!đŁ
Hope everyone's had a great summer and gotten some time to unwind.
Steadily moving forward, autumn is upon us and we have some great bookings lined up in the months ahead. Perhaps a little shindig later this month (more on that soon), and in October there's the big one with Soul Sessions Oslo's Extended 2023 festival, hosting Atjazz with us at House Night.đ„ Finally there's something special during CODA Oslo International Dance Festival, but more on that later.đ
BUT FIRST...
Before all of that, we have an extra extra special international booking in September that has been in the works for a while. Ingensteds and MUD presents:
-----------------------------------------------------------
SHUWANA (SE)
Continuing our focus on highlighting noteworthy talent within the street dance scene, we are proud, happy and excited to host Joanna Holewa Chrona aka Joanna Skywalker aka SHUWANA at MUD Session.
Joanna, active as both dancer and DJ, originally from Sweden and established in Johannesburg, South Africa, is passionately rooted within black music genres: Amapiano, Afro House, Afro Tech and Tribal House. And she has already played alongside legendary DJs like: Black Motion, Mpho Wave, Thandi Draai and Cuebur to name a few.
So what can you expect from this evening you ask? A VERY organic touch on South African house music.đ„

In her own words:
-----------------------------------------------------------
It all started in Johannesburg, South Africa, where I first travelled as a dancer to learn isiPantsula. But once there I fell deeply in love with the House-music scene, the spiritual and positive vibrations created by the DJs and the people, the need of letting go of stress,
emotions, structures, and thoughts, the joy of coming together and celebrating our existence and life itselfâŠ. So after some time spent in Johannesburg I started to feel the urge of getting behind the decks myself, to connect deeper with the music and this uniting
force, to loose myself in the music and move the crowd!

There isn't much more to say than, GET your tickets early, bring yourself, your friends and let's dive into music.
Warm-up DJ sets by MUD residents DJ Ghar and DJ Niwin.
As always, lots of love MUD crew.đ

DJ Niwin:
Niwin aka Nikolai is a DJ and producer from Oslo, who goes by the artist name Niwin. As one of the founders of MUD, where he also is a resident DJ, he already has a good foothold in the house scene.
In addition to being a DJ, he also works as a music producer, sound engineer and runs his own indie music label âNiwin Music Recordsâ. He is passionate about music and dissemination of music. Niwin Music has produced music for several stage productions in
places like BĂŠrum Kulturhus, Dansens hus etc. He also composes and produces music for artists such as Maria Lotus and Kevzta etc. Niwin also releases his own music with the most recent EP âJust Danceâ releasing on the British label Closer To Truth. Niwin produces and plays Hip Hop, Funk, Disco and House music, and comes with a clear intention to create movement.
He has already played at clubs like The Villa, Dattera Til Hagen, Jaeger Oslo, Revolver, UhÞrt, BlÄ, Ingensteds, Oslo Camping, GodthÄb, Sentralen, Kulturhuset, SALT art & music, Dansens Hus, Melahuset, and has had the pleasure of warming up for Andreas Saag (SE), Lay-Far (RU), Crackazat (SE/UK), Mark de Clive-Lowe (UK/NZ/JP) and Vanessa Freeman (UK). In addition to MUD events, he collaborates with other artists and plays his own live-sets.

DJ Ghar à€à€°
Ghar à€à€° aka Niket, is a DJ from Oslo. DJ Ghar à€à€° has been a central part of MUD Session Oslo from its early beginnings, where he is a resident DJ, organizer and promoter of club nights, as well as other cultural events. This being said, DJ Ghar à€à€° has extensive experience and a good foothold in the house scene.
Like many of his peers, DJ Ghar à€à€° started his musical journey digging through his parents' record collection. Fast forward to the present, and youâll meet a dancer and a DJ with strong focus on underground music, who is very inspired by the local street dance and club scene in Oslo.
From earlier, DJ Ghar à€à€° has a background in Indian percussion, which has left its traces as passionate interest in rhythms regardless of genre. As an enthusiast, DJ Ghar à€à€° tries to explore and expand his musical horizons, by continuously searching for (crate digging) new music. As an advocate of the vinyl format, this is well reflected in his ever growing collection. And something that comes into its own, in DJ sets where you often hear a bridge between:
House, Disco, Funk, Boogie and Broken Beat (BruK) music.
DJ Ghar à€à€° has already played at clubs like The Villa, Dattera Til Hagen, Jaeger Oslo, Revolver, UhĂžrt, BlĂ„, Ingensteds, GodthĂ„b, Oslo Camping, Sentralen, Kulturhuset, SALT art & music, Dansens Hus, Melahuset, and has had the pleasure of warming up for Andreas Saag (SE), Lay-Far (RU), Crackazat (SE/UK), Mark de Clive-Lowe (UK/NZ/JP) and Vanessa Freeman (UK).

MUD Session:
MUD stands for Movement Undefined and started as an open âHouse sessionâ for movers across different backgrounds.
MUD Session concept was born in New York and created by the female House dance crew MAWU back in 2009, and later brought to Norway, Oslo in 2015. Since then, MUD has been a common meeting ground where we share our spirit and love for House music, House dance and club culture.
The concept mainly has its roots in house, disco, funk and boogie music genre, and aims to recreate the atmosphere that has existed in various clubs and underground scene in New York since the early 1980s. With us, we always have our resident DJs, DJ Ghar à€à€° and DJ
Niwin, who aim to take us on a musical journey.
Our monthly sessions have moved through different venues in Oslo: Dansens Hus, Kyrre TexnĂŠs Studio Sentralen and Melahuset to mention a few.
In addition, MUD is currently running through Osloâs club circuit: Revolver, BlaÌ, Ingensteds, Jaeger Oslo, Oslo Camping and SALT art & music.
