Inner and Outer Space - Contact Improvisation Class and Jam

𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 & 𝗝𝗮𝗺 Contact Improvisation (CI) is a dance form where partners explore movement together through physical contact, sharing weight, balance, and momentum in spontaneous improvisation. (more info below) . 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 & 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 In this class we will explore awareness of our inner space (our somatic reality) and outer space (our spatial, shared reality). Between these states, we develop a vocabulary that invites collaboration and mutual awareness into our exploration with our dance partners & and the entire space around us. . 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 Alexandra Wuzyk is a multidisciplinary artist born and raised in South Africa. She studied Fine Art at LUCA School of Arts in Belgium, where her work focused on interactive performances, inviting spectators into active and embodied roles. She first encountered contact improvisation in 2020 and fell in love with the practice as an embodied education for life. She has been actively practicing and studying since then, mostly with programs hosted by 𝑻𝑶𝑾𝑨𝑹𝑫𝑺: 𝑪𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒉 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑷𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒄𝒕 𝑰𝒎𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒗𝒊𝒔𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒊𝒏 𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒊𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒅.
