About this Event

Want to get better at swing dancing? Come learn skills that can take your dancing to the next level. In this short two-week improv series, we'll be helping you improve the skills that give your dance a connected, flowing feeling. We'll teach you the core skills you need to connect better with your partner, explore the music and create your own moves. PRE-REQUISITES You must have the basics of 6-Count Lindy Hop or East Coast Swing down. This is not a class for beginners. AFTER CLASS After each class will be a social swing dance from 9-11p, followed by a blues dance from 11p-late. The swing dance costs $5 and the late night blues dance costs $2. Interested in free dances or half-price classes? Ask about volunteering to work the door! ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTORS Trevor Wolfgang Lohrbeer Trevor has been studying swing dance for 8 years, and teaching for 3 years, from Lindy Hop & Balboa to Charleston & East Coast Swing. He strives to continually improve by attending dance camps and Lindy exchanges, where he focuses on the skills required to be a good social dancer who can dance with a wide range of people with different experiences and styles. Kit Wechgelaer Kit started dancing Lindy Hop in Chapel Hill, NC in 2014 and began traveling regularly to Lindy and Balboa events soon afterward. They care deeply about LGBTQ+ visibility in swing dance; as a teacher and as a Swing Asheville organizer, their goal is to provide a welcoming setting for all dancers to learn and have fun.
