Intermediate Workshop Day

It's time to level up your swing dancing again! 🙌 This time around, we'll be bringing you Collegiate Shag and solo jazz. We can't wait to see you on the dance floor! ✨ 🗓️ Saturday, March 14th 📍 Rhythms Dance Studio, 4545 W. Sahara Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89102 💵 $15 per class 🕛 12-1:30pm: Cuddle Up Your Shag with MacGyver and Skeeter Come take your shag to the next level with side by side hand holding and shag swing outs! Expectation is that everyone will be familiar with the basic. 🕜 1:30-3pm: Strengthen Community Through Solo Jazz with Justus DID YOU KNOW: Solo Jazz isn't always about dancing alone - it’s also about sharing creativity, energy, and dancing together in a community driven way. Start with drills to build and strengthen your timing to music and gain confidence and freedom to eventually express yourself. Next we'll cover foundations involving Charleston and rhythm steps such as timesteps and apply the same timing drills from the beginning of class to these newer movements. Lastly (the most crucial part of the workshop) we will form a circle and get comfortable being side-by-side, taking turns trading 8 counts with each other to music. This call-and-response energy is rooted in the lineage of swing and Black vernacular jazz traditions.
