** INTRO RUEDA WORKSHOPS ON AUG. 15th! **

On Saturday Aug. 15th, SALSA GRANDE will present another fun and easy-to-understand introduction to the "Rueda" format of Salsa dancing! You can take just one 90-minute workshop....or stay for both workshops (a total of 3 hours) to learn more than a dozen essential Rueda moves! Rueda is the Spanish word for "wheel" and, in this dynamic format, Salsa dancers create a circle of couples. The dancers then synchronize their moves and frequently switch partners based on a variety of vocal calls and hand signals. This exciting style of Salsa dancing was born in Cuba, spread to Miami, and is now danced all over the world. These Rueda workshops are designed for dancers who already have Salsa partnering skills that are at least Intermediate level or above. So, although this is an introduction to Rueda, these workshops are *NOT* a substitute for a beginner Salsa class. AUG. 15TH WORKSHOPS >> Registration: 12:45pm to 1:00pm >> Rueda Level 1: 1:00pm to 2:30pm >> Rueda Level 2: 2:45pm to 4:15pm Price: $20 for one workshop (90 minutes); $35 for both workshops (3 hours) Each workshop will include detailed discussions of technique, with plenty of actual Rueda practice during every workshop -- plus free bottled water will be provided. A special feature of each workshop is getting to hear a variety of terrific Salsa music! Lead instructor Michael Whitmire has been dancing and performing Salsa Rueda for more than 14 years, including multiple appearances for television, Latin festivals, and other special events.
