WHO New York native Jason Samuels Smith is one of the most in-demand tap dance performers and teachers of this generation. He has collaborated with an eclectic range of artists, from traditional Indian Kathak dancer Pandit Chitreth Das to hip hop acts JaJa Productions and Outkast, not to mention countless jazz bands. Bloch has produced a line of Jason Samuels Smith tap shoes. His tap company Anyone Can Get It has taught weekly classes and produced large events, and Jason is in great demand at tap dance festivals around the world. Despite (or because of) this travel and high profile work, Jason is committed to working with his local community, teaching school children, and raising funds for public schools. In the BLHF Jazz Dance Intensive Jason will introduce us to the fundamentals of tap dance in a week of daily classes. Tap dance is the elder sibling of lindy hop, and the perfect way to hone your dancing skills and rhythmic sensibilities on your own.
