Jazz From The Ground Up Workshop

We are excited to announce our petite Jazz and Lindy Hop workshop weekend focused on social dancing and building connection between yourself and the music, and between dance partners. We are very happy to welcome our facilitators to Bergen for the event; Gabs Novellino (she/her) and Grey Armstrong (he/him). They will be sharing workshops on centering community and connection through dance, and how it links to the roots of dancing to jazz and related music. We’ll be using the ELEF (Everybody Leads, Everybody Follows) method throughout the workshops, so everyone gets to try both leading and following, no previous experience in your opposite role required. No matter what dance you usually do, these workshops will give you new skills for the dance floor. You will also learn more about the music and the African-American culture that these dances come from.
