Jazz with Ramona 8 Feb 2025

Jazz with Ramona is back! Registration opens 11am Friday 17th January, and closes at 5pm Saturday 1st February. https://swingdancesydney.com/ramona/ A day of solo jazz workshops with Ramona Staffeld, a party with live music, and plenty of fun. When: Saturday 8th February Where: Redfern Community Center, 29-53 Hugo St, Redfern, 2016 Cost: tbc What: a day of workshops with Ramona Staffeld, winner of pretty much every lindy hop and solo jazz contest in the modern lindy hopping world, teacher, performer, choreographer, all ground good egg and friendly person. These classes will focus on playing with music, understanding jazz structure, and feeling good about dancing. They will use solo jazz steps, but focus on working with a partner or group - great practice for lindy hoppers and balboa dancers too! Young people are very welcome, but if you're under 18, you will need to be accompanied by an adult. What about a party? Rather than introducing a new event to the busy Sydney swing dance scene, we want to support what's already happening! So we're going to descend on Andrew Dickeson's Blue Rhythm Band's monthly Pratten Park Bowling Club gig. This is good news for us, as there's a full kitchen (you love Colombian food, right? YES!), a full bar, and the dance floor is great.
