To all Son-Lovers in Aarhus & Jutland (Y) - Join the special Son Workshops with musicality and percussion for son dancers, where we go to the roots of the "The Son Cubano Clasico" with the Son-Maestro, Yanek Revilla, from Santiago - The Son-City of Cuba!. The Son Cubano origins from Santiago and East-Cuba and Yanek Revilla lives in Santiago and is one of the best Cuban son dancers and teachers in son history, musicality, son dance technique and percussion for son dancers. Known in Aarhus and Denmark for his particiaption at the Nordic Salsa Camps at Brandbjerg Folk High School with his dance group Sabor DKY. Yanek Revilla is now on a European Tour and it´s a scoop that we have succeded to invite Yanek to Aarhus, where we will use the opportunity to offer you a special and super lovely Santiago de Cuba son workshop night . - It will be awesome! 1. Program for intermediate son dancers 18.30-19.45: Son musicality workshop with percussion for son dancers. 20.00-21.00: Son workshop - Introduction of the "Son Cubano Clasico" from Santiago de Cuba. 21.00-22.00: Son social dance with Yanek Revilla as DJ 2. Prices The whole evening 300 kr. 3. About the workshops 3.1 Musicality with percussion for Son dancers In this workshop you will try to play the basic son rhythm on a conga drum as a son dancer, so you will be more familiar and confident with the rhythm of son. We will have 16-20 conga drums at the workshop with additional claves so all can play an instrument. Beside being a great dancer Yanek Revilla is a percussionist and he has a good experience and results by teaching percussion for son dancers. 3.2 Introduction "The son Cubano Clasico" Yanek Revilla will introduce the basic frame, steps, and figures and flow of the "Cuban Son Clasico" as it is danced in Santiago de Cuba combined with musicality. 3.3 Son Social dance We will end the night by having a joyful social son dance event with Yanek Revilla as DJ presenting his favorite son numbers from Santiago de Cuba. 4.
