Juan Ruiz's (Bachata) Workshop Weekend!

Australia's favourite Bachata teacher, co-creator of the World's first Bachata Festival (the amazing Sydney International Bachata Festival), Principal of Tropical Soul Studio (Sydney) and all 'round nice guy, JUAN RUIZ, is coming to town!! WORKSHOP SCHEDULE - SATURDAY, 16 JUNE ************************************************ @King St Arts Centre, (studio 1), 357 Murray St Perth Bachata Social Workshops. 1 hour each with 10min break in between. These workshops are designed to give you a taste of the different styles of Bachata, Dominican, Modern and Sensual. Learn footwork and patterns 1.30pm DOMINICAN BACHATA FOOTWORK & PATTERNS (Open) Bring some Dominican flavour to your Bachata. Move your feet and hips to the beat of the music. This workshop is open to all! 2.40pm BACHATA SOCIAL MOVES (Inter) Learn Bachata patterns that are 100% leadable, and every follower will enjoy the dance. 3.30 BACHATA HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE DANCE FLOOR (Inter/Adv) Stand out by creating some nice sensual shapes and highlights for the dance floor. Learn about the different ways to create body waves and locks. WORKSHOP SCHEDULE - SUNDAY, 17 JUNE ************************************************ @11-3 at Mt Hawthorn community centre (upstairs) Bachata Technique Classes These workshops are theory classes with some dancing excercises. Expand your knowledge beyond the dance floor. See things a musician sees, feel the instruments and their rhythms!. Both classes will help you improve your dancing in ways unimaginable 11.30am DANCING TO BACHATA INSTRUMENTS - Did you know that majority of bachateros dance to the rhythm of the Bongos? But there are a lot of other rhythms that you can dance to and still keep your Bachata timing. (1 hour) 12.40pm BACHATA MUSICALITY Do you have problems finding the 1 and 5 of the music? This theory class that goes over how Bachata music is created, so you can find the build-ups and the breaks of the music. A must do for all Bachateros!
