July Casino Workshop-Beginner's and Intermediate

Casino is a popular Cuban dance that was developed in the 1950’s. This method of Casino dancing is fluid and beautiful. You will learn the essentials and beyond. We will focus on foundational fundamentals: proper body alignment, weight distribution, maintaining frame, proper flow of tension between leads and follows, articulation of feet, shifting/pivoting your weight on the 4’s and 8’s while traveling on circle pathways. No partner needed. For the intermediate class, you should be able to confidently execute the following figures: dile que no, paseala, exhíbela, guapea, enchufa + variations, and vacílala + it’s variations.
