Karawane at Muir of Ord Village Hall!

Special event! For the first time, Karawane heads to Muir of Ord Village Hall, for a night of food and dancing! Joyous dancefloor music from around the world, from the infections grooves of soukous to the deep ryhtms of modern club sounds from Colombia to Cabo Verde. Salsa, cumbia, afrobeat, ska, and much more; music that makes bodies move and minds travel. The music starts at 7pm and ends at midnight, and will keep you moving all the way through. Karawane are resident DJs at Eden Court's under Canvas, Belladrum and Findhorn Festivals, and play in clubs and events across Europe. Since coming to the Highlands in 2018 they have built a reputation for welcoming, inclusive parties and a deep, joy-inducing selection of music. They will be joined by friends on live percussion with more details to come! Opening at 7pm, we invite you to arrive early to sample the amazing plant-based Tanzanian street food. This is prepared by Michelin-star trained chef, Tom Morrell! A former Master Chef finalist, Tom has worked in fine-dining restaurants in Geneva and across the UK, from River Cottage to his current role With TimeSpirit on the Macallan Estate. Tom and team will be serving up hearty, affordable food from 7-9pm and you should NOT miss this! There will also be a bar in the hall with a selection of beers, wines, spirits and cocktails. The event finshes at midnight. All proceeds for the night go to Mlali Community Trust. The Mlali Community trust supports the work of The Queen Elizabeth Academy, a locally run school in rural Tanzania. By listening to and working closely with the school’s staff and students, MCT supports lasting improvements in education, health, and well-being. Together, they are building a stronger school and community - where young people can learn, grow, and thrive.
