About artists:
Félicien Rossa:
Félicien discovered dance at the age of 11. He started with Ballroom and Swing (Rock’n’Roll, Lindy-Hop, Acrobatic Rock). He started then to assist his teachers and build his teaching skills.
In 2001, a few years later, he discovered the Latin dances (Cuban Salsa, Puerto Rican Salsa, and Bachata), and began his first own classes in Paris in 2005. He went to Cuba many times to learn and improve his technique and style. He also discovered his strong attraction to West Coast Swing and Argentine Tango for the unique leading techniques embedded within those dances.
He did his first Kizomba steps in 2009 and fell in love instantly with it! He went to all the workshops he could, met all the masters on the scene at this time, and went to Portugal many times to learn from Angolan and Cape Verdean dancers.
He met Isabelle few months later, and from then, developed his technique and style into Modern Kizomba.
They created their dance company, traveling to and performing in many different countries. They recorded some of the most known Kizomba videos, like Mil Pasos, and also participated in many TV shows wherein they helped a larger audience learn ore about Kizomba and its culture.
He continues to travel the world to share his passion and knowledge with pedagogy and fun, using the dance as a bridge, a connection, between people.
Sandra Gutierrez:
To talk about Sandra's dance career we have to go back 15 years, when she did her first steps on urban styles and funky.
During the first 9 years she dedicated her development into hip-hop, dance competitions as "WOD" (World of Dance) and also teaching dance to children.
By the age of 19 her mom introduced her to the latin dance scene where she focused on Bachata Sensual until she met Kizomba and fell in love with it.
She developed her dance technique and experience in teaching by taking classes with her first teachers Lety & Dani and also assisting workshops of some big artists. But it was not until 2020, when she started to work with Albir, when she found her own and unique style, based on the influence of hip hop.
Her hard work and determination during these years allowed her to win first place in the Solo Styling Category of the Olympiads of Kizomba in 2022.
Currently she is focusing her teaching on body control, isolations, and musicality through her workshops around the world and online classes.
Also, in 2022, she created her own solo styling worldwide dance teams, having the first groups in Vietnam and Korea.
Her goal is to train dancers with body awareness capable of creating unique things.
