Kizomba Initiation and Promotion Course A cultural and bridging project of AsiAfrica Foundation START DATE/TIME : 17 Feb Wednesdays 9.00pm – 10.00pm (1 hr). Every Wednesday - 6 Lessons per course DURATION/FEES: 6 Lessons @ Package Rate of 700 THB Drop in or One time trial lesson: 150 THB LEVEL: Beginners SYLLABUS: Fundamentals of kizomba – The Concept - Basics of Kizomba musicality - “Geometry of kizomba” (square/circle/zig zag/line etc) - The “clock”- The "T"- Change of direction to the left and to the right - Basic steps and variations - Body movement - Connection - Dancing drills - Forward breaks - Variations & turn - Disassociation exercises - variations and combinations- Men’s Saida - Ladies’ - Saida and combinations – Saida variations - Walking/Pivot turns - ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Dr. Roland, aka Dr. Salsa Dr. Roland is renowned for salsa dancing for over 20 years and for his engagement under “Salsa Concept®”. He is a member and Who's Who of the UNESCO INTERNATIONAL DANCE COUNCIL (CID-UNESCO). Under the AsiAfrica foundation project, he started to promote Salsa as a “cultural bridge”. He has been dancing French Caribbean Zouk since the “Kassav” era and was first exposed to “Kizomba” in Dili (East Timor) during a training mission in year 2000. With the popularity of Kizomba, he decided to take the "Kizomba challenge" and learn from the best instructors such as Manuel Dos Santos aka Dr. Kizomba, Albir and Sara Panero, Sara Lopez, Nelson Campos (received a certificate of Instructor), Azlan and Mabel, and many others talented instructors. Recently Dr. Roland was inspired to create “Kizomba Concept™” and filed an application for the trademark for AsiAfrica foundation to promote the essence of Kizomba as a cultural and bridging project between Asia, Africa and the world. Dr. Roland was one of the team members of Afro-Latin-Invasion Asia (ALIA) and was one of the DJs and judge at ALIA for the Kizomba competition. Recently Dr. Roland and Kizomba Concept™ team, organized the "First Thailand- Malaysia Kizomba Bridge" in Bangkok! Dr. Roland's motto is "Let's Dance and Explore the Concept".
