Kizomba Class with Freezy

Join Freezy Bruce EVERY TUESDAY at Allegro Ballroom, the new home for his classes in the East Bay! Freezy made one of the biggest decisions of his life: to stay here in California...and luckily, now more of us will have access to his instruction, and the playful, musical artistry that shines through in his dancing! If you've danced with Freezy, or watched him dance, then you know what I'm talking about!! And if you haven't... well stop missing out! ;) For those who may not know, Freezy is an internationally recognized kizomba and semba instructor. One especially telling aspect of his dance past is that he was a phenomenally popular taxi dancer, in Europe. If you're not familiar with the concept of a taxi dancer, in a nutshell, it is a dancer who is contracted by a big party/festival to make sure nobody is left sitting down all night. Taxi dancers typically compete against each other at a party for their compensation--some prize awarded them by popular vote among the attendees. Followers loved dancing with Freezy so much--there was such demand for promoters to contract him at their parties--that he was able to professionalize taxi dancing as a trade, not just work for a prize, but to be hired for the job! This fact from his past conveys perfectly his truly uncommon skill as a SOCIAL DANCER. He is able to dance with ANYbody, of any level, to ANY song, and create a fantastically enjoyable dance. It's that invaluable social dancer insight, combined with his incredible musicality, the contagious joy that comes through in his dance, and his desire to help each of his students discover our own musicality and joy in dance, that makes his class ONE OF A KIND! Whether you are a beginner looking for an introduction and to create a strong foundation for kizomba and semba, or you are an improver/intermediate student looking to build upon what you already know and strengthen your technique, connection and musicality, this is the class for you. Freezy's goal is to advance his students progressively through the lessons, so, as your schedule permits, try not to treat this as a drop-in experience. Commit to coming, and you and your class cohort will advance as a group!
