She was then drawn to the sensuous rhythms of Cuban salsa, training with some of the top dancers in Europe before moving to the US. Once here, she was exposed to other styles of salsa. Applying her formidable natural dance talent, she quickly became known as one of the Bay Area's best social dancers. She is well-known for her ability to move and isolate her body parts in a way few others can, and is recognized as one of the finest Kizomba dancers in North America. Emile is a California native with a lengthy background in music, dance, martial arts, and competitive sports. His dance career started with many years of hip-hop. Then, he was lured into the sexy world of Latin dance, spending extensive time in Europe training with some of the world's top dancers in salsa. In addition to his love for several salsa styles(cuban, "On-1", "On-2"), he's also dabbled a bit in dances such as bachata, cha cha, and carribean zouk. Their current passion is Kizomba, and as Cartara Productions, the duo has been on the forefront of exposing the Bay Area, and North America, to this elegant, exciting, and beautiful dance from Africa and Portugal. Since 2012, they have held close to 20 intensive Kizomba weekenders, four International SF got kizomba! festivals featuring amazing Kizomba artists from around the world, and organized & hosted the 1st DC Kizomba Congress. This is in addition to organizing various Kizomba&Semba workshops, parties, socials, and related events, and collaborating with, and counseling, promoters in other areas of North America and the world. They have trained, as both instructors and dancers, with some of the top names in the business, such as Kwenda, Petchu, Albir&Sara, Tony Pirata, Cyméone, and Joao&Mafalda.
