Janet - LGS Promoter/Salsa Teacher. I absolutely love SALSA!. I have been dancing Salsa for 8 years. A colleague took me to a lunch time salsa class with Robert Charlemagne, a Top UK Salsa Teacher. I was hooked after my first class. I have always loved to dance, I am one of those people you can’t get off the dance floor! I have had experience of Latin American dancing and Contemporary Dance, but the salsa Robert introduced me to ,was something else! I started going to clubs and salsa weekenders. I was addicted to the music, the people and the atmosphere and I still am. I went on to take my UKA club style exams, UKA Teacher Training courses, BTEC Level 1 and BTEC level 2 Qualified Salsa Teacher exams. I assisted in lessons where and when I could. Other than Salsa my other passion is Dominican Bachata. Jason- took up salsa almost 7 years ago, I had moved to a new area; Milton Keynes and wanted to find something to replace athletics and also wanted to meet people. I went to a new 6 week course and that was it, I had the bug. My dance background prior to that was only going clubbing back in the day.Since then I have found myself teaching and performing salsa as well as DJ’ing. I teach in a structured way, but once you have your foundations, I encourage musical interpretation and playing off your dance partner. I love the atmosphere and the people within Salsa. I love knowing I can go anywhere in the world and simply walk into a club and ask for a dance with someone I have never met before and have a great time. I dance salsa On1, On2, a little ChaCha and have performed in a group and as part of a couple, but more recently my love for Bachata has taken me all over the country; teaching Bachata Tango and more recently the raw Dominican style with Janet Walsh-Harris. I love the freedom of dance, it is all about expression. I have taught for clubs around the country and at a number of events and weekends. My motto’s are “It’s not what you do, it’s the way you do it” and “We are fools whether we dance or not, so we might as well dance” AND OF COURSE YOUR KIZOMBA FAMILY! SEE you all there!!
