Le but principal de cet événement c’est de diffuser et de faire connaître la kizomba, comme l'un des exemples des plus importants de la culture africaine. Sa pratique de plus en plus repandue, grâce à la mondialisation et aux membres de la communauté lusophone vivant avec nous, fait que ce concours aille au-delà d'un affichage simple de la danse mais de vouloir être un moyen de se rencontrer, communiquer et partager leur culture. Le concours contribuera à favoriser la discipline de la danse ainsi que de connaître la vraie racine de la kizomba. Il servira aussi pour le soutien et la reconnaissance à tous ces danseurs professionnels, enseignants et supporteurs qui ont fait du kizomba quelque chose de très spécial dans leur vie et dans la notre." The mission of the event is to promote the dance of kizomba as one of the most important and trending examples of African culture. The popularity of the kizomba dance scene has been developing quickly due to globalization and the solidarity propelled by the Portuguese community rich with culture, language, and art. The event is pivotal in the evolution of dance by way of meeting new people, communicating interculturally, and immersing into an exotic culture. The KIZOMBA OPEN competition brings together an array of dancers and dance expressions that embody the authenticity of kizomba culture and community. It is also meant to provide a space for networking amongst and between professional dancers, teachers, artists, and lovers of dance.This event seeks to expand the kizomba community and invite new faces to experience and embrace the feeling of the dance."
