This is a great opportunity for dancers of all levels; whether you are a beginner looking for an introduction to creating a strong foundation for Kizomba & Semba or if you are an intermediate/advanced student looking to build upon what you already know and strengthen your technique, connection and musicality. Growing up part of the Palop Community Eddy always felt electrified by Kizomba. In 1998, he began his career as a promoter in Lisbon orchestrating successful parties and workshops which he continued after moving to London in October 2009. Eddy’s immense love, passion and knowledge of Kizomba was recognized by respected Kizomba teacher Norma Facey and Eddy humbly credits her for starting his teaching career around March 2010. That same year he founded Pitanga Dance Group as a platform for promoting authentic Kizomba through teaching and performance with a focus on enriching the student’s learning experience by acknowledging the origins of the music and dance. Eddy is known for a teaching style submersed in history and musicality which he believes are fundamental in producing top quality dancers and he is confident the success of his method is demonstrated each time his students take the dance floor. Eddy’s interests include reading, playing chess, watching movies, listening to music and while he’s a self-proclaimed fύtbol fanatic his real passions are teaching and dancing Kizomba and Semba. Travelling all around the world teaching and inspiring others to dance, appreciate the music and understand the culture of Kizomba brings him great pleasure. RICO SUAVE: Rico was born and grew up in Guinea-Bissau. He moved to Portugal in 1999 and then to London in 2011. Whilst growing up Rico was surrounded by music and dance, and his first memories are of his family dancing. Rico is nickname Mr Suave because of his smooth style and it is rare to see him off the dance floor at parties as he so in demand, but the gentleman that he is he always does his best to dance with as many ladies as possible, although recently it has been noted he also dances with the men as well. So guys you have been warned! Rico himself took part in this GB competition in 2012 with his dance partner Josy. This was the catalyse for the journey that he has been on ever since. In 2013 he cofounded Kizomba Suave Nights with Gemma and the craziness of bananas began. This year Rico and Josy have put together their second show, for which they have been travelling all around Europe to perform. Rico has already judged in many competitions from here in London, to Russia, Spain, Italy and even as far as Mexico. Rico can be summed up in just a few words as, energy, smoothness, smiles and of course minion. TBOY: TBoy is a Kizomba/Semba teacher in Paris, France. He met kizomba in 2009-2010 in Paris and has developed his skills and competences in Kizomba & Semba in the best school in Paris, “Centre Momboye and Pénatchon”. TBoy started to teach in 2013 thanks to Lucia Nogueira and performed in different countries such as several times in United Kingdom, Jersey island and France. He also performed at the international MSC Cruise on the atlantic ocean in 2014. Today he teaches Kizomba/Semba weekly at Salsabor, famous school in Paris, France. He also partner up with Victor de Sousa named Victor Kizomba.fr who is one of the first kizomba teacher in France since 2009. Additionally, TBoy is the leader of "Semba na Rua" in Paris. Semba na rua is a project of dancing in the different open places in Paris in order to dance freely and show to the public these dances coming from africa. As well as Pé Leve’s, a dance project based in Paris founded with the purpose of keeping the tradition of Kizomba alive in France. Through his way in the kizomba, he had the pleasure of performing and teaching with Ms. Nogueira. Inspired and trained by Dilson, Puto chinez and Tecas, Tboy developped his own style. Now he is willing to share his passion, dance skills and knowledge.
