Kizomba w Yasert & Damaris

Class held every Friday except third Friday of the month. Enter "*1924" into the buzzer system to be let inside the building, then proceed to the third floor and follow the signs for Studio 1924. Join Yasert and Damaris for their Kizomba class at Studio 1924. Yasert and Damaris have been dancing together for one year, and have been teaching for six months, both Bachata and Kizomba. Together they make a great combination of creative steps, precise musicality and sexy moves; together they are The Sexy Kingdom. It is suggested to arrive at 8pm or as close to 8pm as possible. After class, there will be time for practice/social dancing, but there will not be entry for *just* social dancing. Class from 8pm to 9:30pm: Basic Kizomba Steps Musicality Kizomba patterns Practice and social Cover: $12, including class and social History of Kizomba: Kizomba music was born in Angola (in Luanda) in the 80s, following the influences of traditional semba music (the predecessor of samba from Brazil) with zouk, kilapanda andmerengue. On this basis, Kizomba music emerged as a more modern music genre with a sensual touch mixed with African rhythm. Unlike Semba, Kizomba music is characterised by a slower and usually very romantic rhythm. Given that Angola is a former Portuguese colony, Portuguese is the principal language spoken in Angola and thus, also most Kizomba songs are sung in Portuguese. However, Kizomba songs of the very beginning were song in Kimbundu and in other National languages of Angola.
