KontaktLand 2022 Hungarian Contact Improvisation Festival 19-24 July 2022, Három Kincs Völgye Dear Dancers! While Contact Improvisation celebrates its 50 years anniversary this year, we warmly welcome you to the 5th edition of the Kontaktland festival. We will celebrate Contact Improvisation once again, and deepen together into our practice for 6 days in the middle of nature, at Három Kincs Völgye. This is a fantastic opportunity to gather the Hungarian community and to welcome international dancers. The festival is settling year by year and we are so thankful to create such a safe, intimate and friendly space all together. This is not just a dream, this is reality! We are grateful for the success and the atmosfear we created in 2018 and 2019’s festival. Wonderful connections and collaborations were born, which inspired us to continue our work. In 2020 we canceled the festival and offered a self organized camp instead, we were 70 dancers. For 2021 we took the decision to make a festival again, followed by a Jam Camp. Our concept was the same as originally planned in 2020, with some changes in the teacher team. Now for 2022 we will have the same format, 6 days festival followed by a 5 days Jam Camp. We will again follow our original concept: “community, research and nature”. But this year we would like to celebrate our three words and 5th edition together with the 50th anniversary of Contact Improvisation! So there will be community talks, performances in nature, researching the edges of jamming for 50 hours… and you and us we will create it. How would you celebrate our dear practice together? What CI gives you? Why practicing Contact Improvisation is good for the world? What do you give to CI? What are your dreams for CI and the next 50 years? Those questions will accompany us and before and during the festival. We will have opportunities to play with them and to share. Program: INTENSIVES There will be three intensives led by Charlie Morissey (UK), Anya Cloud (US) and Dorte Bjerre Jensen (DK) The offer is to choose one. WORKSHOPS The workshops will be held by Ágnes Grelinger (HU), Sándor Petrovics (HU), Angela-Mara Florant (DE), Joane Auber (FR), Vladimira Sancic (CR) and Ram Jalal U Din (IL). MUSICIANS This year the music will be provided by Nathaniel Damon (US). JAM PRACTICE Every day jams, focused and open, with live music and also silent. One Underscore, maybe outside… PERFORMANCE Time will be given for inclusive performance. RESTING and REGENERATING Sauna time every evening. A space for resting and body work. Forest and endless landscapes to escape and find your space if needed. DISCUSSIONS Sharings, talkings around CI, community, care, and safety. And also the topics which will be present during the week. There are 70 places for the festival, which will contribute to a cosy and friendly atmosphere. ​ The classes will be given in English and translated into Hungarian if necessary.
