Kontaktland 2024 - Jam Camp

🌻 We warmly welcome you to the 6 days Jam Camp, right after the Kontaktland - Hungarian Contact Improvisation Festival, at this wonderful retreat place, called Three Treasures Valley (Három Kincs Völgye). Jam camp is all about practicing contact improvisation in different frameworks, where we can follow our interests and learn from each other. With different thematic jams, labs, research spaces, and performance opportunities, we provide a safe space to relax inside togetherness and engage in Contact Improvisation. At the Jam Camp, there are no nominated teachers, in lots of situations we make decisions together as a community, so as participants, we can also practice how to listen to each other, how to say our wishes, and how to cooperate. Just like in dance. You, as an individual can shape the community with your presence. Everything affects everything, everything is connected to everything. 👉PROGRAM Jams Year by year we organize different themed jams every day. We like to propose 8-hour jam, silent jam, music jam, Underscore, blind jam, focus jams, and of course, we are open to new suggestions, wishes, and ideas. Every day there will be a guided jam by Karvalics Fruzsi, Lévai Viola, Grégory Chevalier and guest teachers. Research As the camp goes on, some topics arise in the body and we can give time and space to explore them. Research and LAB periods are dedicated to going deeper into different topics. This is where we can expand our interests, offering and receiving knowledge and occasionally leading them into performative practices. There will be afternoon slots for exchanging skills and researches, with an invitation to present the work in the performance evening. CDP Contemplative Dance Practice is how we like to start every day—meditating, moving alone, moving together. We can observe how this process is changing in us day by day. You can contemplate in the body and mind. Music and singing Our musician will be Joós Zsofi (Hu/Po). Garden Singing Circle with Pavla Kopřivová (CZ) every day after lunch.
