The Band lead Mauro Valenzuela, born in Chile and based in Berlin since many years meet the other musicians in a Chilean Bar in a colorful mixture of nationalities i.e. Chile, Armenia, Germany, Malta, Australia, Peru, Mexico. The Bar in F´hain district in Berlin called "El Caiman" was the place where they meed each other and since many years they are together doing concerts in Germany and Europe. Basis des Repertoires ist die Cumbia, eine ursprünglich kolumbianische Musikrichtung, die vielschichtige Rhythmusstrukturen afrikanischen Ursprungs mit spanisch beeinflussten Melodien zusammenführt. Die Musiker des multikulturell agierenden Ensembles stammen nicht nur aus Chile. Sie sind auch in Deutschland, Peru, Venezuela und Italien beheimatet und bedienen sich durchaus ihrer kulturellen Wurzeln zur Einflussnahme auf die Kompositionen. Mal temporeich, zumeist aber in relaxtem Midtempo kamen die komplex arrangierten Songs mit südamerikanischer Coolness daher. Lässige Monotonie voller Energie und hoher Infektionsgefahr, getragen von einer meisterhaft präzisen Rhythmik. Keine Frage: Hier ging es nicht nur um Musik, hier wurde das Lebensgefühl eines ganzen Kontinents authentisch rüber gebracht. SISTEMA SONIDERO Cumbia trifft auf Reggae, Dancehall trifft auf die Siebziger. Sistema Sonidero macht das Beste aus dem Begriff „Fusion“. Ein Wirbelwind aus unzähligen Einflüssen, Kulturen und Ideen, so vielfältig und aufregend wie die Hauptstadt selbst. Berlin mag ihre Wahlheimat sein, doch diese Band hat sich aus allen Ecken der Welt zusammengetan und die heißesten Klänge ihrer Straßen mitgebracht. Mit einer Frauenstimme am Gesang und Cumbia als Leitfaden verfechten sich die einzelnen Winde in einen großen musikalischen Sturm aus eigenen Liedern und den besten Coverinterpretationen.
