Bohemian-Vintage setting with a contemporary warmth. @galleriabohemesf This Sunday we will have the pleasure of enjoying the art of Jordana del Feld, whose paintings will be exhibited at Galleria Boheme: Jordana grew up in a family of professional artists, for whom drawing and painting were everyday facts of life like eating and sleeping. Her earliest memories are of sitting in a guitar case under her mother's easel while she painted, the comforting smell of oil paint wafting through the air. Jordana earned her Master's of Fine Arts at New York University. She also studied art at Parsons School of the Design, the New School, Atelier Christopher Young, and the San Francisco Art Institute; and Asian art history at Columbia University. There was also abundant study and practice in Rome and Paris. Her work has been sold in San Francisco through City Art Gallery, the San Francisco Women Artists' Gallery, and the Artists' Guild of San Francisco, in Chicago at the Agitator Art Gallery, and in online galleries. The tango paintings show San Francisco's tango community dancing at milongas, socializing, practicing, making music together, performing, and occasionally falling in love. They are drawn freehand and painted in India ink. Because India ink dries permanently and almost instantly and leaves a hard edge, Jordana invented a new technique for doing the paintings, so that soft skin and subtle shadows would be possible.
