A guided práctica (approach them with your questions and requests for instruction) including a mini-class “Dancing in a small space, ideas to work on”. They perform with El Cxuce tango company (directed by Vanesa Villalba and Facundo Piñero). Their classes focus on the development of self-awareness and technical language, promoting a deep understanding of the body and its mechanics, to foster movement autonomy, expand expressiveness, and enhance effective communication with the partner. La Chispa Tango Práctica: 📍A práctica, not a milonga. No cortinas. 📍Less advanced/skilled/experienced dancers practicing with more advanced/skilled/experienced dancers - as was done in Buenos Aires in the Golden Age of tango. Two beginners practicing together usually means doubling the mistakes and perpetuating bad habits. Plain bare reality. This ‘knowledge transfer’ also allows the supposedly better dancers to test and transfer their understanding and skills. Teaching is learning twice. 📍Be careful giving feedback, be sensible. 📍Practice with more than one person as La Chispa is community-focused, though of course this does not mean you need to practice with everyone! La Chispa is a social tango práctica inspired by the Golden Age tradition. Dancers of all levels are encouraged to learn from each other, with more experienced dancers supporting those with less experience—just as it was in the prácticas of Buenos Aires.
