LA EPOCA presents: CALI de los 70 XL Edition at Hotel Arena

LA ÉPOCA returns to Amsterdam on 𝑺𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒅𝒂𝒚, 𝑱𝒖𝒏𝒆 𝟐𝟕 with an edition dedicated to the world capital of salsa: Cali, Colombia. Since the 1960s, Cali has become a global salsa sanctuary through its legendary salsotecas, vinyl culture and the iconic Feria de Cali, where the biggest salsa artists in the world still perform every year. We chose Cali for this edition because the city has played an important role in keeping salsa alive through everyday life, education and passing the culture on to new generations.🇨🇴 For this edition, Gerardo Rosales returns with a special live set dedicated to the sounds of Cali of the 60ties, 70ties and 80ties. Also joining us from Berlin Germany, Hebert Asprilla curator, documentary maker, and vinyl selector aka DJ Bongo (Buenaventura/Cali) will deliver a special all-vinyl salsa set, and what can’t miss a Salsa Caleña dance show by the finest dancers from Cali. 𝟐𝒏𝒅 𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒂 “𝑬𝑳 𝑩𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒊𝒐” Whether it’s in the barrios of Spanish Harlem, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Colombia or across the Caribbean, domino is and has been a symbol of social identity, cultura y comunidad. Played in parks, on street corners, solares and in neighborhood bars, The domino table is where people come together to talk, laugh, comment, gossip and escape from the everyday life while listening to music. With “EL Barrio”, we want to bring that same atmosphere and sense of community to Amsterdam for this night.
