Here we go again! Join us for the only Timba Party in North County, where we always guarantee you a good time! San Diego Casineros have joined forces to bring north county just what everyone has been asking for. DJ Warapo from LA will be spinning the latest in Cuban music with some good ol’ classics. Warapo has DJ from Local events to all over the world including the largest festival in Cuba. Special Guest Instructor Hansel Melgares in the house. Hansel will be leading a salsa suelta class at 6:30pm and performing for us, don’t miss it! For Hansel’s bio please scroll down. To coincide with Hansel’s workshops earlier in the day we have moved our location this time around to Escondido, please look at the address above. $10 entry fee at the door This event is open to all ages, enjoy dancing with the whole family just like in the streets of Cuba. Students get in for free before 7pm with student ID. Ahí na ma! HANSEL MELGARES Hansel Melgares was born in La Vibora "barrio" of Havana, Cuba. He is a master instructor, DJ and performer of traditional Cuban dances such as rumba, son, timba, casino and folkloric Afro Yoruba dances. He as built his own dance academies in Sardinia, Italy, where he has taught for twelve years. In 2009 he participated in Timbalaye, a biannual international festival in his hometown of Havana. There he taught alongside other master instructors like Domingo Pau, Ulises Mora and Irma Castillo. In 2010 he performed at Sistina Theatre in Rome with Clave de Son Academy. He taught from 2005 to 2013 at the event "De Cuba para el mundo" in Sardinia. He is living between Italy and the U.S. seeking new challenges in order to share his knowledge and passion for Cuban culture. He has taught at San Francisco Salsa Rueda Festival from 2015 to 2018 and this year and Albuquerque Latin Festival 2017. He has five dance schools in Sardinia, Italy.
