She began her dance training at the age of eight, developing a refined technique and powerful artistic expression that allow her to masterfully dance both roles—leader and follower—with exceptional fluidity, even performing both in heels. Her career has taken her to prestigious stages across Argentina, China, Hong Kong, Brazil, Uruguay, Chile, Turkey, Germany, France, Canada, and the United States. In 2008, she founded Open Tango in Buenos Aires, a pioneering and inclusive company that promotes freedom of roles in tango, breaking traditional gender norms and encouraging authentic expression on the dance floor. Widely recognized as one of the world’s leading female tango leaders, Liliana made history as the first woman to compete as a leader in the Tango World Championship in Buenos Aires, reaching the semifinals and opening the path for queer and same-sex couples in the competition. She has also been a key figure in bringing Queer Tango to international stages through the acclaimed Social Tango Project, touring across the United States and Canada. Her artistic work includes performances with MSC Cruises, the cabaret show Vermouth with Orquesta Romántica Milonguera at the iconic Salón Marabú, and appearances in music videos with Tango Bardo Orchestra. She has also served as a judge in tango competitions in both Argentina and the United States. As a producer, TDJ, and event organizer, she leads the International Queer Tango Festival “Love is Love” in Buenos Aires, establishing herself as a prominent voice in the global movement for inclusive tango.
