About this Event
Come celebrate La Rumba Buena's 2-year anniversary with special guest, Quantic! All the way from Brooklyn New York, Quantic with be playing an exclusive all-Latin DJ set. It's a huge honour to be hosting Quantic at La Rumba Buena as he was one of our main sources of inspiration for starting the monthly party back in February 2016.
We will be hosting the event at the Luanda House, which is right around the corner from Yauca's. It is a much bigger space so there will be more room to dance!

Quantic's Bio:
Quantic's pioneering and enigmatic productions, as well as his musical expressions as Guitarist, Accordionist, DJ, Studio Engineer & Music Compiler, have earned him an international fanbase and constant engagements as a music selector, remixer, and band director. His travels have led him to record, collaborate & perform all over the world, from Festivals in Brasil, clubs in his native England and the outdoor stages of Japan. In 2005 he collaborated with NY-based producer Nickodemus on the salsa hit 'Mi Swing Es Tropical' (this tune received worldwide exposure through its use in a 2007 iTunes commercial, as well as the 2014 movie 'Chef').
After a year of travelling and recording through Puerto Rico, Panama and Colombia the album 'Tropidelico' was released; itself a sonic adventure through Cumbia, Soul and Salsa. With a move to Cali, Colombia in 2007, Quantic explored an ardent interest in tropical rhythms of the region and it was there he established his Sonido del Valle studio. This culminated in records from side projects Los Miticos Del Ritmo, Quantic and His Combo Bárbaro and Ondatropica.
More About La Rumba Buena:
La Rumba Buena is a night dedicated to classic Latin sounds inspired by the salsatecas in Cali, Havana, and New York. No frills, pure vibes, and a non-stop dance floor open to anyone who catches the rhythm.
La Rumba Buena just means a great party and ‘Rumber@s’ are people who love to dance. Expect to hear Salsa, Boogaloo, Cumbia, Guaguanco, Son, Rumba, Descargas, Mambo, Cha-Cha-Cha, Bomba, and Plena from the resident DJs. With a stack of vinyl collected over a decade from across the Americas, DJs Blancon and Drumspeak play out the sounds from the Latin Diaspora and bring La Rumba Buena to Toronto.
La Rumba Buena is a queer-positive space.
