About this Event
UPDATE: the venue has been changed to Luanda House 2 (974 Bloor St W, just around the corner from Yauca's).
Just like another famous citizen of this city, we're going BACK-TO-BACK. If you missed our ridiculously fun anniversary jam, never fear! We're back in three short weeks! And we're pleased to welcome back special guests, direct from Montreal ¡Tumbao! If you were here for the last time ¡Tumbao! joined, you KNOW this one is going to be hot fire (definitely one of our more favourite Rumbas).
¡Tumbao! is an Afro-Latin Soundsystem that will make the dancefloor hustle to the tropical sounds of vinyl records from african, latin, caribbean and oriental shores. Our goal is to bring the concept of "picós", monster-sized sound systems that represent the beating heart of Colombian street parties, to Montreal!! Get ready to dance dangerously with this trio of MTL DJs (ASMA/Dr.Bahar/Rhythm&Hues)
La Rumba Buena just means a great party and ‘Rumber@s’ are people who love to dance. Expect to hear Salsa, Boogaloo, Cumbia, Guaguanco, Son, Rumba, Descargas, Mambo, Cha-Cha-Cha, Bomba, and Plena from the resident DJs. With a stack of vinyl collected over a decade from across the Americas, DJs Blancon and Drumspeak play out the sounds from the Latin Diaspora and bring La Rumba Buena to Toronto.
