La Rumba II - Oxford’s Latin music and dance festival

La Rumba II is coming your way! We all had so much fun last year that we just had to bring you a second edition of the wildly popular La Rumba event. On 11th May, we'll celebrate Latin music and dance with a day long festival incorporating 6 hours of live bands and 4 hours of introductory dance classes. Doors open at 11am, with the music starting at 12pm, interspersed with dance lessons at a complete beginner level that anyone can try. Opening the show are Matt and Martha, a Flamenco duet with authentic sounds. On next, we have Los Grillos, playing psychadelic Cumbia. Mambo Panthers will take us into the evening with a blend of hits from Latin America and New Orleans, think Salsa, Cha Cha, and New Orlean's Jazz that will have you out of your seats and dancing. Headlining the night, we have London's Sarabanda, playing Cuban classics and originals. If that's not enough, Oxford's Kwassa Kwassa DJs will have you dancing until your shoes drop off! Classes: - 2pm Merengue - 4pm Bchata - 6pm salsa Dance classes are hosted by Laura and Paco who will bring their vibrant energy and love of Latin dance and have you up and dancing in no time! £12 in advance / £14 on the door.
