Lambada Lab NYC

MOTIVATION Lots of folks know the principles/ concepts of lambada but need a space to train those concepts in order to make them intuitive in the body. WHAT IS IT A two hour long session guided by experienced community members in lambada followed by a 2 hour long practica/ social. We’ll work on concepts in lambada with a focus on how to unlock your creativity with those concepts and how to create new variations with these concepts together, then practice those concepts in the practica. If the first lab is a success, the hope is to do an entire series. The central pedagogy of these labs would be that we’ll learn to “lambatize” our bodies from the ground up, starting with our legs (turn structure, timing of steps), and working our way up to chest/arms/head (boneca, boneca desprezada/mergulho/rolinho).
