Zenzouk and The Hut present a weekend intensive in Brazilian Zouk Lambada w/Ry'el & Rachel. Join us for this dual track opportunity to begin or continue your training in Brazilian Zouk Lambada at The Hut in beautiful Santa Fe, New Mexico. From November 22-24th, Ry'el and Rachel will provide a dual track of workshops to accommodate all levels. There will be an "ABCs" track for those who are just beginning their Zouk Lambada journey or wanting to explore a new role, and a "Cursive" track for those who have already been training with Ry'el in NM or elsewhere and also those who want to challenge themselves with more intricate details. Full passes are also available for both tracks together, for those of you wanting to enjoy the full experience of having the Zenzouk master in town and/or to level up your dance by taking the ABC track with a switched role. --The ABC track - the fundamentals of Brazilian Zouk-Lambada via the 3 alphabets and the transitions between them. --The Cursive track- Developing smooth sentences and flowing between the alphabets and linear head movements. ___________________________________________________________________ TEACHERS: Ry'el Velandia & Rachel Ashley Meth DATES: November 22-24, 2024 (Friday - Sunday) LOCATION: The Hut 1285 Clark Rd. Please contact Ben if you need a payment accommodation. _______________________________________________________________ ABOUT YOUR TEACHERS: RY'EL VELANDIA Ry’el is a performer, choreographer, instructor, and dance coach. He is also the creator of ZenZouk, a method of teaching Brazilian Zouk-Lambada and overall body movement through multiple exercises and philosophies based on the “elements," including earth, water, fire, and air- as symbols for analyzing dance and personal movement. Ry’el’s main aim is to educate and cultivate the appreciation for each one of these different styles of Brazilian Zouk-Lambada , building a strong foundation of versatility by embracing evolution through the classic techniques found in the origins of our dance (Lambada).​ His rich formal dance training in classical ballet, jazz, World Jazz, modern dance, international Latin, and social dances like Salsa, Bachata, cha-cha and different Brazilian Zouk styles enables him to understand, share & create flavorful and fluid organic movement in each of his works as well as in his teachings. His expressive sensuality and trained eye for technique through his Body and mind connections and philosophies makes for a unique and unforgettable class experience. RACHEL ASHLEY METH Rachel has been studying and teaching zouk and lambada for over a decade, and has helped to build zouk communities all over the US. She has also organized zouk festivals and retreats all the way from New Zealand and Hawaii to her own backyard in Jemez Springs, New Mexico. In all of her events, she loves to weave together her passion for dance, meditation, and "waking up together" in community with deeper wisdom, compassion, and joy. _______________________________________________________________ ABOUT THE HUT: The Hut is a newly opened movement space and community center in Santa Fe, NM. We believe movement is medicine and are excited to inaugurate the space with the Zenzouk master and hope this will be the first of many exciting events and community opportunities hosted here at The Hut.
