The SEXIEST Social Competition Hits The Dance Floor! The Granada is proud to present $2000 LA's TOP Bachata Social Dancer Competition! Calling all the Sexy Bachateros and Bachateras! The BACHATA division will be hosted by Alejandro Delatorre, Laura Luu and official DJ Vince Torres! We are looking for LA's BEST Bachata Social Dancer! No performances, no routines! Sexy, Authentic, Spontaneous & True Connection! $2000 IN PRIZES! PROFESSIONAL CATEGORY: Winner Takes All! $1000 + Trophies OPEN LEVEL (Non-Professional) CATEGORY $600 + Trophies $300 + Medals $100 + Medals QUALIFYING ROUNDS for BACHATA Thursdays March 10th, 17th, 24th - April 7th. FINALS Thursday April 14th All Categories! (Professional and Non-Professional) Come out, prove you can rule any dance floor & be crowned LA's Top Bachata Social Dancer! Limited spots available each heat Enter as individuals You will be randomly paired in each heat. At least 2 couples advance each heat to the finals! You will be randomly paired up once again in the Finals RULES No choreography required! Individuals may dress in fun, club style. Competitors must register with the Granada and qualify to enter the Finals. Professional competitors are individuals who have won competitions, get paid to teach/perform, director/assistant director of dance companies. Open Division are competitors who have never received compensation for teaching or performing. Individuals will be randomly partnered & take the floor one couple at a time. They will social dance to DJ's selected song No props. No lewd or inappropriate dance moves. All movement must be acceptable on a social dance floor. No nudity. Qualifying rounds are judged by audience response. Finals are judged by professional judges + audience response. All decisions are final. JUDGING CRITERIA 1. Musicality - How well the dancers interpret the music, its highs & lows, breaks, and various instruments & beats. 2. Partner Connection - How well the dancers connect with each other and how well they communicate with each other through dance. 3. Timing - Are they consistent with their timing? Or are they breaking on different counts every time? 4. Technique - how well the dancers execute the moves technically, clean spins, control, lead & follow technique 5. Representation of the style & enjoyment - How well they represent the style they are dancing. How much the dancers are enjoying the dancing. 6. Presentation & X-factor Do they have good presence? 7.
