Ever since the unrivaled success of the Salsa Addicts *All Star* Charity Gala we have lost count of the number of times we've been asked "When are you doing another one?" So..... not to disappoint, Salsa Addicts with be bringing you a quarterly latin dance party with some amazing *All Star* guest teachers. It will run mostly on the occasional 5th Saturday of the month with the objective of NOT clashing with any other successful events in the area. The Salsa Addicts group has always supported a wide variety of music covering Salsa, Bachata & Cha Cha. We will select from a wide selection of music styles from traditional, old style, romantica, some covers and a splash of Cuban with a view to maintaining a balance of around 70% Salsa (incl Cha Cha) / 30% Bachata... something for everyone!! Our resident DJ Tim Heasman will be running the decks and will be on hand to jump in with a few line ups to keep the party rocking A little about your guest teachers for March..... Giles and Rosa have a background in classical ballet, modern jazz and tap dance. They started dancing Salsa in 1999 and complemented their dance training in the USA with the Rumberos Dance Company, the King of Salsa Mr Eddie Torres, to name a few and in Cuba with the Narcisso Medina Dance Company. Together, they established themselves as Salsa Teachers and Performers not only across the UK but also abroad where they achieved significant successes! In 2000, Giles and Rosa created their dance partnership and established OnSalsa, their successful Salsa Classes in Oxford. From 2000 – 2005, Giles and Rosa entered and won several competitions including the world famous Bacardi World Congress competition where they came 2nd nationally. In 2006, they pioneered “Salsa Student Performance Courses” in Oxford. These courses were developed to enable social dancers to acquire performance skills and give them the opportunity to show case their choreographies in the UK. In 2007, they formed their professional dance group, IGNITE Dance Company, which performed nationally and internationally. 2007-2016 , official coaches of the Oxford University Salsa Team Also known for a tremendous sense of fun with cheeky dances and line ups you'll find Rosa and Giles on the dance floor throughout the party!!! The Venue....... The Green has an excellent wooden dance floor, great acoustics and lighting as well as a reasonably priced, well stocked bar with professional bar staff. There will be plenty on seating with a few nice surprises on the well dressed tables for you to enjoy. The car park is massive & FREE
