Latin Utopia Mega Party Salsa, Bachata, Zouk & Kizomba

DouDouLe Latin Dance Festival is coming up at the end of August so let's get warmed up for it at Brisbane's official 9-hour pre-DouDouLe party. With two parties back to back, but one low entry fee, you can enjoy Zouk & Kizomba from 3pm 'til 7pm and then Salsa & Bachata until midnight. Everyone welcome. Air-conditioned. ** Theme ** Pyjamas / PJs / Onesies. Dressing to the theme is always optional but encouraged. ** 9-hour Mega-party / Two parties in one ** Saturday 17th August 3pm - 4pm Come and try Zouk with James Quinn-Hawtin (Introductory class for you, your friends, family and colleagues) 4pm - 7pm Zouk & Kizomba social dancing (2 Zouk songs & 2 Kizomba songs) 7pm - 8pm Come and try Salsa & Bachata (Introductory class for you, your friends, family and colleagues) 8pm - Midnight Salsa and Bachata social dancing (2 Salsa songs & 2 Bachata songs) ** Party Entry ** Only $15 entry per person for the whole Saturday Or... here are some ways to get a discount: Arrive between 2:30pm - 3:30pm or 6:30pm and 7:30pm: Bring a friend/colleague for any introductory class and pay only $10 each for the whole party. Once you have your wristband you can come and go as you please. Full-time students may also present their student ID card to enter for $10 at any time during the party. Cash preferred: To make entry quick and smooth please try to bring cash. We can process Visa and Mastercard but it requires manual entry (no EFTPOS machine) and therefore will slow down your entry a bit. There is an ATM machine one minute's walk away on the corner. ** DJs and Music ** Our DJs will play primarily Zouk and Kizomba music from 4pm 'til 7pm and primarily Salsa and Bachata music from 8pm 'til midnight. From 4pm 'til 7pm the rotation will be two Zouk songs to every two Kizomba songs. Enjoy our new subwoofer (position yourself near the middle of the floor to feel the bass in your chest). From 8pm 'til midnight the rotation will be two Salsa songs to every two Bachata songs. Requests welcome and encouraged. Our confirmed DJs are: 4pm - 7pm Matthew Grevett for Zouk & Kizomba 8pm - 10pm David Vuong for Salsa & Bachata 10pm - midnight (plus any after-party shenanigans) Madalyn Milazzo will be debuting as a Salsa & Bachata DJ! ** Food and drink ** We will supply some basic food and drink but we know that some of our students love to make and share food so please feel free to bring a plate to share. We will provide a "potluck" table. ** Location and getting there ** Find us at Dance Culture, 1st Floor, 474 Ipswich Road, Annerley. We have only recently moved in so our building signage has not been installed yet. You will find us above Yesterday's Thrift Shop and the door is just to the right of Yesterday's. Plenty of parking available. We are 2 minutes from the nearest bus stop on Ipswich Road and a 9 minute walk from the nearest train station. ** More to come ** Further details to be announced.
