Latin Utopia Salsa & Bachata Party Pre World Salsa Solo Ed.

All Salsa and Bachata dancers are invited and encouraged to join us for another Latin Utopia party at Dance Culture's air-conditioned studio in Annerley, Brisbane. Important: Please read the schedule below because this edition of Latin Utopia is a bit different from our regular parties! This is our Pre- World Salsa Solo and Brisbane Latin Dance Festival edition which will feature Salsa and Bachata dancing as normal plus performances by dancers preparing for the World Salsa Solo competition in December. ** Showcase & Party Schedule ** NB: Performers, please scroll down to find a section dedicated to information just for you. 6:30pm Doors open for spectators of the showcase. Bubbly and canapes on arrival. 7pm Performance showcase 8pm Social dancing 10pm Madalyn's Angels and Something Sensual performances 10:10pm Social dancing continues 'til midnight ** Party Entry ** 6:30pm - 7:00pm entry Spectator-only Friends & Family of Performers pass $10 per person (includes free bubbly and canapes on arrival) Entry cannot be guaranteed once the showcase starts 6:30pm - 7:00pm entry Spectator + Party pass $15 per person (includes free bubbly and canapes on arrival) Entry cannot be guaranteed once the showcase starts 8:00pm - 11:00pm party entry $15 per person as normal Discounted entry: Full-time students may present their student ID card at reception to enter at any of the above times for $10 Current industry professionals such as instructors, event organisers and DJs may enter as VIPs but please let James or Madalyn know that you're coming so that we can make sure that your name is on the door list. Cash preferred: To make entry quick and smooth please try to bring cash. We can process Visa and Mastercards but it requires manual entry (no EFTPOS machine) and therefore will slow down your entry a bit. There is an ATM on the corner (Dudley Street East). ** DJs and Music ** Our DJs will play primarily Salsa and Bachata music. Confirmed DJs include: James Kristi Madalyn Jean-Luc DJ schedule to be announced. ** Food and drink ** We will supply some basic food and drink but we know that some of our students love to make and share food so please feel free to bring a plate to share. We will provide a "potluck" table. ** Location and getting there ** Find us at Dance Culture, 1st Floor, 474 Ipswich Road, Annerley. You will find us above Yesterday's Thrift Shop and the door is just to the right of Yesterday's. Plenty of parking available. We are 2 minutes from the nearest bus stop on Ipswich Road and a 9 minute walk from the nearest train station. ** Information just for performers ** Doors will open for you at 4:00pm. We are providing a tech rehearsal from 5:00pm for all performers and this must be complete by 6:30pm We are going to ask you please to contribute $10 each toward the running of the event including providing an air-conditioned space for tech rehearsal and some food. This includes a free pass to the party itself. Your friends and family are welcome to come as spectactors. They will be given some bubbly and canapes on arrival. They need to arrive between 6:30pm and 7:00pm. Once the showcase begins no further entry can be guaranteed until the showcase finishes. We are asking $10/spectator or $15/dancer if they are going to stay for the party as well. ** More to come ** Further details to be announced.
