He will conduct a 4 hour workshop teaching Bachata musicality, Modern Bachata, and for the first time in Jax we will cover Carribean Style Bachata! Carlos has taught at multiple Salsa and Bachata Congresses. He has also performed with Monchy and Alexandra in San Diego. Carlos's light-hearted and fun teaching style will keep you entertained, and will bring your bachata to a new level!! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1:00-3:00pm BACHATA MUSICAL UNDERSTANDING & FOOTWORK - DON'T MISS THIS CLASS!!! Learn to hear bachata music like never before! Carlos breaks down the instruments present in every bachata song. Learn how to change your footwork based on each instrument and how to anticipate timing breaks. Be prepared to walk away looking like you “know” a bachata song, every time, the first time! Forget the patterns and get into the music with Anthony Santos, Joe Veras and Joan Soriano. 3:00-4:00pm SIMPLE & SMOOTH TRANSITIONS: Learn how to smoothly lead and follow 2 hand turns, butterflies, 360 turns, double turns, guys turns, 1/2 turn, getting from open to closed position and closed to open, hand changes, hair combs, etc...all while social dancing! This simple and smooth partner work will also be incorporated in a pattern that combines the best of both worlds. The modern sensuality ...meets the Caribbean footwork. 4:00-5:00 OPEN PRACTICE ... GET YOUR JAM ON!!! Ever leave a workshop only to forget the moves you just learned?
