About this Event

Come learn one of the most famous line dances in history! The Shim Sham was created by tap dancers Leonard Reed and Willie Bryant in the 1920's and caught on almost immediately everywhere it was seen. It is known as "The National Anthem of tap dancing", and has become one of the most important line dances in the vernacular jazz world as well. Every night, somewhere in America, the shim sham gets played and people jump on the floor. Geoff will be teaching the full Shim Sham, and it will be played at future social dances hosted by Big Apple Ballroom, along with other swing dance socials here in New York City. Join us on the 12th for a great group class!
