About this Event

Dancers needed to join us in a fundraising event ....social dancing / instruction / flyer distribution & smiling faces needed. Join us Leading local law firm Pictons (with SEAL Dance Academy) is joining forces to support its charity of the year, the Milton Keynes Hospital’s Little Lives appeal, to host a fund raising ‘danceathon’ event in Middleton Hall on October 27th. Middleton Hall, a prime location in the Central Milton Keynes shopping complex, has generously donated the space and the event will take place between 5-8pm. Busy shoppers will have a chance to enjoy fabulous dancing from SEAL Dance Academy - Redhotred Zumba Team, as well as others. You'll be able to join in and learn a few sexy salsa moves yourselves. Pictons’ volunteers and members of the Little Lives fundraising appeal will be using charity buckets to collect donations of loose change from shoppers, while also encouraging shoppers of all ages to have some fun and have a bit of a shake and wiggle. Yvonne Hardiman, an HR consultant and a Partner at Pictons says ”Pictons has offices in Milton Keynes, Luton, Hemel Hempstead and Tring. Each year our staff vote for the charity they want to support in the coming year and for 2011/2012 it’s the Little Lives appeal. “We’ve already raised a substantial sum and we came up with this idea because we’re all inspired by Strictly Come Dancing. I love to dance and my salsa club was more than happy to donate their time and expertise to help us with such a great cause. We hope our ‘Strictly Salsa fever’ will be catching and we’ll raise a lot of money on the day!” Concludes Vanessa Holmes, fundraising manager of Milton Keynes Hospital. “Our appeal has been getting great support from lots of companies, especially Pictons, and we loved this idea when they suggested it to us. We think the shoppers will love it too and we hope the music and dancing will create a real buzz throughout the Centre, benefiting not only us but the retailers as well. We want to encourage as many people as possible to take part. We’ll start by using just a section of Middleton Hall, which is a huge space, but it’s going to be a ‘moveable feast’, so we want to encourage lots of people to come along on the day and join in by dancing or watching. We can easily extend our dance floor to accommodate all comers. “We are very grateful to Pictons, and Middleton Hall for giving us this opportunity and we hope to raise lots of money at the event.”
