There is a Creative Soul that asks for space. This residence-retreat is an invitation to open that space. To the unknown and the new, in us and around us, to discover new horizons, new looks, new colors, new movements and new ways of living life, and the Art that inhabits it. To empower ourselves, explore and experience (re)creation, co-creation and evolution, individually and as a collective. With all the events of 2020, it is clear that a new chapter is wanting to emerge in our collective and individual stories, and it needs us to be aligned with our purpose and power! ~What do you do to connect with your creative energy?~ ~What do you do that inspires you and the world around you?~ The World is no longer the same. We will guide timeless spaces for you to meet new places of integration of who you are and to open for what you can become, through artistic practices and creative wellness routine tools. ✺ A Retreat ✺ Marta Carvalho (Creative Souls), Constança Morais (Release - Embodied Arts) and Rizumik (guest facilitator) will guide a selected group of 15 researchers through an exploration and experimentation of the power of expressive intuitive arts for personal and collective growth. The group will live together in a beautiful and peaceful country house in coastal Alentejo. While there will be plenty of inspiration and healthy challenges to get out of our comfort zone and explore new territory, this is also a time to relax, lose yourself in Nature, eat delicious and nutritious food and take care of our Mind, Body and Spirit, respecting a gentle dynamic of creative wellness (morning practices, guided meditations, inspirational sessions, sharing he(art) circles…). ✺ The Program ✺ We will have moments for loud music and unbroken silence, exploratory chaos and deep focus, easy relaxation and productive work, laughter and tears. And air & space… in this beautiful valley in Alentejo you will have plenty of space to breathe. Day 1 - Arriving . Belonging . Connecting ~ with the deeper self, the other, the group and the place. She is a consultant and trainer in social innovation for 9 years, supporting collectives at finding ways to restore social and environmental health in our Earth spaceship. In parallel, over the past 6 years, her love for dance/music and her curiosity led her to do intense research on conscious movement with teachers all over Europe, exploring approaches such as 5 Rhythms, Contact Improvisation, Movement Medicine, Reconnect Dance and Zero One, among others. Along the way, a few key books, a Vipassana course and regular Somatic Experience therapy sessions were also important channels to reach a deeper understanding of life's energetic dynamics and how they are revealed in our bodies. She eventually understood that right there lies an important key that was often missing in her "economist" efforts: we need to understand the roots and ways of emotions (especially fear) - and we desperately need to bring art again to the center of our societies - if we want a new human culture to emerge. Currently, she is taking Tamalpa's training on Movement-based Expressive Arts Therapy and continues to investigate somatic work with trauma. ✹ Marta Carvalho (main failitator) Marta is a curious creature for the mysteries of life. From a very early age, she genuinely flows through all the languages of art, from dance, music, painting, and writing. She graduated in graphic design but always felt that her way navigated through the subtlety of colors, lines, movement and words. Today, in parallel with her career as an artist, Marta is passionate about the intimate relationship that exists between Art, the creative process and Life. Since 2015, she has been the guardian of spaces for free artistic expression, and in the format of one-to-one sessions, workshops, courses (online and in-person) and retreats, she opens paths to the deep (re)connection of Being in the most infinite languages, with a focus on empowerment and personal & human development, in presence and in tune with the path of the heart. In the last three years, she facilitated the online course “Awakening of Creative Souls”, the space “Art Temple – the artist within” and co-created retreats with other artists: “Your body as a canvas” with the dancer Barbara Devens, “Embody the manifest” with musician and artist Edgar Valente and “Move your Color” with dancer Natalia Vik. She is the founder of Creative Souls, a collective that seeks to demystify art, experiencing it as a potential for individual and collective awakening, growth and transformation. She believes that Art is pure medicine for the Soul and the key to the transformation of a New World. It is what moves her. ♡ ✹ Rizumik (guest artist) RIZUMIK is an awarded artist known mainly for his improvisation and rhythmic talents, mostly falling back on beatbox, singing, percussion, dance, humor e acting. He has worked with CIRQUE DU SOLEIL and THE VOCA PEOPLE (at Off-Broadway and cast internacional), and is part of the teaching body in Bobby McFerrin's Circle Singing course, at Omega Institute. He won the "Best Vocal Percussion" award at the A Cappella Harmony Sweepstakes 2017 competition, in New York; Was Beatbox American Champion and won a Lucille Lortel award in 2012, and the music award “Jovens Criadores”, in 2008, with his vocal project aCorda. RIZUMIK completed the Rhiannon improvisation advanced course “All The Way In”, and was a speaker in the 2019 edition of TEDxULisboa. He especially values musicality, humor, and movement through absolute spontaneity, and firmly believes in a spiritual and sacred approach in relation to the musical practice and sound experience. Being open and present in relation to the moment, to our bodies and creativity, means we can explore the world and connect with each other in a more profound way, approaching us more and more to our most authentic voice.
