Life Celebration In Memory Of Simon Cooke

As many of you will already know, our dear friend Simon sadly passed away on the 14th June, peacefully with his family at his side. Many of us knew Simon as a stalwart of the Dance Scene here in Manchester and elsewhere around the UK, and of course further afield as a visitor to many events around Europe. Simon was a great friend to many of us, his courage, grace, enthusiasm and sense of humour, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege to meet him. Our dance community has truly lost a great soul and we are all devastated by his passing. Although most of us knew Simon through our shared love of dancing, he had many interests and hobbies away from the Dancefloor. This event is intended to provide an opportunity for us all to share our memories and stories of Simon, the "Zouk Bus" for instance. The event will be informal, although there will of course be music and dancing (as he would no doubt have wanted), but the focus will be on simply celebrating the life of our friend. We will kindly ask you to contribute £5 on the door of the event to cover studio costs. Any surplus will be donated to charity. The event starts at 8:30pm and ends at midnight. see you all there.
