Lifts in the Park

WHEN: Tuesdays 2 and 9 May (may continue as lab rest of May or in June after Karl returns from California) TIME: 18:30-20:00 (When the weather cooperates) WHERE: Clara Zetkin Park, Leipzig (meadow southwest of Sachsenbrucke) FEE: 7-14 euros pay-what-you-can-sliding-scale (Please send a Facebook message or sms to me (Karl) to let me know you are thinking to come on the day of the class. This also helps coordinate if the weather is iffy or if we postpone to Wednesday because of weather)) Year 3 of spring-time CI training in Clara Zetkin: LIFTS IN THE PARK! As long as the weather is cooperative, we'll gather for some training of lifts and more acrobatic moves in contact improvisation. It's a class for folks who already have an intro to CI and are feeling physically adventurous. Not so much open dancing. just practicing and training lifts and tricks. a variety of shoulder lifts lifts through inversions using momentum and off-balance jumps, catches, and deflections etc, etc... I'll present material to challenge whomever shows up. You can work barefoot, but i like to work in sneakers. What if it rains? Basically, if it is not actually raining at 18:00, I (Karl) will plan to be there. I've been there when it has rained earlier in the day, and it's been quite fine!
