Come join us on the weekend of Saturday the 21st to celebrate the winter solstice ~ we'll be up there all weekend, so come not just for the Saturday evening ecstatic dance, but for a more holistic weekend long nature immersion ~ ❄️ Schedule ❄️ Friday 5pm ~ Arrival, settling in 7pm ~ Dinner 10pm ~ Quiet time, rest Saturday 9am ~ Breath-work and yoga 1pm ~ Lunch 3pm ~ Trading circle / holiday gift exchange / craft market 5pm ~ Nature walk, solstice meditation and prayer 7pm ~ Dinner 9pm ~ Ecstatic dance 11:30pm ~ Guest DJs 2:30am ~ Rest time Sunday 10am ~ Yoga & sound bath 1pm ~ Song circle 4pm ~ Contact dance jam 7pm ~ Dinner and music Midnight ~ Rest time Monday 10am ~ Clean up Noon ~ Departure ❄️ The Flow ❄️ We welcome you to be there with us from Friday evening till Monday morning ~ food will be collectively prepared ~ each person will sign up for a volunteer shift to help with some aspect of preparing food or caring for the space ~ Saturday and Sunday mornings we'll do some breath-work and yoga ~ Saturday afternoon we'd like to have a trading circle to share our crafts, food creations, and home brewed remedies ~ Saturday evening we'll have our usual ecstatic dance, which will be followed up with a couple of tasteful electronic music sets from our guest DJs ~ to be mindful of the fact that it's colder outside and we'll have people staying over in the house more than usual, we'll stop the music around 2 or 3am ~ Sunday afternoon we'll have a music jam and contact dance workshop ~ nature walks ~ food ~ and then a bit more music, maybe something like that sweet mid-tempo folkloric electronic ~ going till 11pm or maybe midnight, but not later ~ Stay over Sunday night too ~ but be mindful to help with clean up Monday and leaving around noon ~ ❄️ Accommodation ❄️ Most folks will be staying in the house in collective crash pad areas ~ those that are brave can camp ~ temperatures look like they'll be hovering around zero ~ it won't be too terribly cold out, but do bring lots of warm things ~ we'll be spending a good amount of time outside by the fire, going on walks, and down at the sauna ~ There'll likely be 30 people staying in the house ~ probably about 20 folks up in the loft space ~ it's an expansive 900sq ft area and we'll have 10 beds or so, but they'll be joined together in a collective plounge style ~ if you can bring a sleeping bag, pillow, and mat to help create your own little nest ~ ❄️ Contribution ❄️ We'll accept e-transfer in advance to the email below or cash at the door to save some fees, or you can buy a ticket online from Eventbrite ~ The cost is $50 per person per day ~ if you'd like to come Saturday and stay over till Sunday it's $100 ~ if you'd like to come Friday night and stay till Monday morning it's $150 ~ Food will be collectively created ~ we expect people to bring approximately $20 to $30 in groceries for each day you'll be there ~ or if you're just coming for one meal than bring a dish to share, potluck style ~ we'll ask people to sign up to do meal prep and tidy up shifts ~ Here's a link where you can purchase tickets: e-transfer : [email protected] https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/lila-familia-winter-solstice-ecstatic-dance-tickets-1108923874159 If you're finding cost to be restrictive then please feel free to reach out to us and we can find other ways for you to contribute ~ for instance there's always an abundance of volunteer duties that we need help with ~ it takes a lot of effort to run a project like this and we welcome support of all kinds ❄️ Music ❄️ The bulk of our journey will be free-form dance expression and moving meditation, guided by rich and soulful, tastefully bass-augmented music from around the world, moving gently from quiet beginnings through a raucous and ecstatic culmination, and back to stillness.
