Lindy Hop As a Performance Art Form

Save the date! Tony and Jaime are teaching an advanced Lindy Hop workshop, but not the regular workshop you've been through already. This workshop is dedicated entirely to Lindy Hop as a live performance art form. Tony and Jaime been performing and building performance groups for over a decade. Their performance history spans the whole gambit, the stage, paid gigs, television, swing dance camps and competitions all over the world, and even the pinnacle of NYC, Midsummer Night Swing. They are some of the most sought after swing dance performers in NYC. This one-time workshop is a four hour block dedicated the performance side of the art form. Among other things, they will e covering topics like temporarily modifying your own dance, drawing in and preparing for your audience, reading the crowd, coaching others and individual training, moves and movement that crowds tend to enjoy, etc. Though there will be much discussion, most of these topics will be covered through drills, movements and patterns. Be prepared to work hard. Bring your own power snacks and plenty of Red Bull. Like usual, join the group for dinner afterwards, and dancing if there is any.
