About this Event
Learn to swing dance over two days!
Lindy Hop is an improvised partner dance that originated on the dancefloors of Harlem, New York in the 1920s-1940s, and is closely ties to the evolution of jazz music. It's a social dance where you get on the dance floor and connect with other people through the music with rhythms, groove, expression and improvisation.
This workshop will take you from the very basics, introducing rhythms, movements, and footwork. By the end of the two days, you'll be able to have confident, creative dances with anyone on the social dancefloor. There's no experience required and you don't need to sign up with a partner.
With 6+ hours of teaching plus a tea dance on the Sunday afternoon, this workshop is suitable for absolute beginners as well as dancers wanting to try out a new role or anyone looking for a more intensive course than our weekly lessons.
Tickets are £40 / £30 concession.
Tickets are also available for the tea dance only.
Registrations open on Friday 20th March at midday.
