Lindy Hop Musicality Workshop

This workshop will focus on engaging in conversation with swing music with Shane Allen & Frances Wolfe. We'll use familiar recordings to build a vocabulary for rhythmic phrases we know and love! All Ages $20 Prerequisite: Lindy Hop 1 and above, comfortable with six & eight count basics In the spirit of conversation, we'll discuss approaches for adding, complementing, and making contrasting statements with our movement. To establish a vocabulary for discussing rhythm, we'll practice and name the full range of rhythmic building blocks used in swing music (with a special focus on syncopation and polyrhythms)! This will all be explored with live musicians AND classic recordings in an effort to become familiar with the major artists of the music and illuminate their styles, personality, and contributions to expressive technique.
